IMPARTIALITY AND INDEPENDENCE POLICY

MEC, through this Impartiality Policy, aims to ensure impartiality, transparency, and independence in all of its activities. This is central to safeguarding the integrity of its decision making so that clients and stakeholders can have confidence in the integrity of its activities.

MEC is organised and structured in a manner that ensures impartiality requirements are met under AS/NZS ISO/IEC 17020:2013.

MEC conducts risk assessments in relation to specific activities or contracts and potential conflict of interest relating to Accredited Certification business, this is reviewed during the Auditing process and Management Review.

MEC makes decisions based on defined and transparent criteria in all objectivity with no bias, conflict of interest, or the undue influence of others.

Conflict of Interest and objectivity is further covered through annual training sessions and contractually binding agreements, to ensure all management system activities are conducted in an independent and impartial manner.

MEC ensures that it’s policies and procedures are non-discriminatory; its services are available to all clients and are offered relatively and equitably regardless of size of any organisation.
